The short answer
Every dictation you made on that PC, grouped by day, newest first: what was written, what you said, the app it went into, and how fast you spoke. It stays on your PC only.
Opening History
Click the Perfect Dictation icon in the tray and open the window. History is where it opens, with today's dictations at the top.
What each dictation shows
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| What was written | The finished text, as it was typed |
| What you said | Your words before clean-up, removed words struck through |
| App | Where it went, such as Outlook or Slack |
| Style | The style that wrote it |
| Speed | How fast you spoke, in words a minute |
| Time | When you dictated it |
What you can do
- Copy it to paste somewhere else.
- Redo it in another style, free. See Can I redo a dictation in another style?
- Fix a word that came out wrong, which teaches your dictionary.
- Star the ones you want to find again.
- Search for anything you said.
- Delete a single dictation, or clear History altogether.
Dictations waiting to send
If you dictated while offline, or over the free plan's weekly words, those clips show in History as waiting. They send themselves when you are back online or your words reset, and the text appears in place.
Where it is kept
History lives only on your PC. It is never uploaded, never synced to your other PCs and never kept on our servers. That is also why it is not on a new PC when you sign in there: your dictionary, snippets and styles follow you, but History stays where it was made.
Keeping it tidy
In Settings you can keep History for as long as you like, or only for the last 90 or 30 days, after which older dictations are removed automatically. Clearing it is one click, and cannot be undone.
