Terms of service

1Who we are

Perfect Dictation ("the service") is operated by DeveloperData.net (Developer Data), Empire Tower, 41st Floor, Unit 4106-7, South Sathorn Road, Yannawa, Sathorn, Bangkok 10120, Thailand ("we", "us"). By installing the app or creating an account you agree to these terms.

2Your account

You need an account to use the app. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Free covers 1 device, Pro and Annual 3, and Annual 5 PCs 5. Each device gets its own key that you can sign out at any time from your account page.

You must be old enough to agree to a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree for you.

3Plans and payment

• Free: 2,000 words a week, counted after clean-up, resetting every Monday at 00:00 UTC.
• Pro: US$7.99 a month, renewing each month until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the month already paid for.
• Annual, 3 PCs: US$69 a year, renewing each year until you cancel, including the Mac app when it ships.
• Annual, 5 PCs: US$99 a year on the same terms, for up to 5 devices. Moving up from 3 PCs charges only the difference for the rest of the year.
• Lifetime is no longer sold. Anyone who bought it keeps it on the terms they bought it under.

Payments are taken by Stripe and appear on your statement as DEVELOPERDATA.NET. Prices are in US dollars. Moving from Pro to Annual ends Pro at the end of the month already paid for. Cancelling Annual stops the next renewal; you keep it until the end of the year already paid for.

4Fair use

Paid plans are unlimited for ordinary personal and work dictation, up to 40 hours of speaking a month. The fair use page explains what that means and what happens if an account goes far beyond it.

5What you may not do

• Use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass, deceive or harm anyone.
• Share one account between people, resell access, or run automated traffic through it.
• Try to get around the word allowance, the device limit or our security.
• Copy, take apart or build a competing product from the app, except where the law allows it.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why.

6Your words

What you dictate belongs to you. Audio is processed in memory only to write your text and is then discarded; the text is returned to your PC and is not kept on our servers. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we do keep.

7How well it works

Speech recognition is very good, not perfect. Check anything important before you send it. The service is provided "as is", and we do not promise it will never be slow or unavailable; the status page shows how it is doing.

8Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

9Ending

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may end the service with at least 60 days' notice by email; if we do, Pro and Annual stop renewing, and anyone with time left on Annual is refunded for the unused months.

10Changes and law

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we email you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of Thailand, and the courts of Bangkok have jurisdiction.
