Can I redo a dictation in another style?

Yes. In History, pick a different style on any dictation and it is rewritten from what you said, without speaking again. Rewrites are free and never count as words.

The short answer

Yes. In History, pick a different style on any dictation and it is rewritten from what you said. Rewrites are free and never count as words.

Why you would redo one

How

  1. Open History from the tray icon and find the dictation.
  2. Choose a different style for it.
  3. The new version appears in a moment. Copy it and paste it where you need it.

The redo is written from what you originally said, not from the first written version, so nothing is lost along the way.

It costs nothing

Redoing a dictation never counts towards your words, on any plan. Try as many styles as you like.

A fast way to write well

Many people use redo as a deliberate habit for important writing: talk the whole thing through once, as a ramble, in the Clean style. Then redo it as Email, or in a style of your own, and pick the version you like best. It is often quicker than drafting carefully the first time.

Your History, and so everything you can redo, stays on your PC only.
