The short answer
Not on our servers. The text goes straight back to your PC and lives in History there. We keep counts only, like words and seconds.
Where your words live
Once your dictation is written, the text is sent back to your PC and typed at your cursor. A copy goes into History on that PC, so you can copy it, redo it or check it later. That is the only copy we make, and it is on your machine, not ours.
What our servers keep about each dictation
| Kept | Never kept |
|---|---|
| Number of words | The words themselves |
| How long you spoke | The audio |
| App name, such as Slack | What was in that app |
| Language and style | Anything you said |
| Timings, such as how fast the text came back | Your History |
Those counts power your account page: words a day, time saved, your streak and your speaking speed. See What do the stats on my account show?
Is History synced between my PCs?
No. Your dictionary, snippets and your own styles sync, because they are settings. History does not: each PC keeps its own, and it is never uploaded. That is deliberate.
Support tickets
If you open a support ticket, what you write in it is kept so we can reply. If you choose to include app details, that adds your app and Windows versions and the timings of your last 20 dictations, never what you said.
Removing it
Clear History on any PC in one click, or set it to keep only 30 or 90 days. See Can I delete everything?
