The short answer
Not yet. Windows came first, and the Mac app is next. The download page has a waitlist, and Annual plans include the Mac app when it ships.
Why Windows first
Most people who write for a living, in offices, clinics, law firms and schools, work on Windows. It is also where good dictation has been hardest to find: Windows' own voice typing does not clean up fillers, write for the app you are in, or learn your names. So that is where Perfect Dictation started.
The Mac app
The Mac app is the next platform we are building. It will use the same account, so your plan, dictionary, snippets and your own styles will be there the moment you sign in.
- Join the waitlist on the download page to hear the day it ships.
- Annual plans include the Mac app at no extra cost, on the same account.
Using a Mac today
If you have a Mac and a Windows PC, you can use Perfect Dictation on the PC now and add the Mac when it arrives. If you run Windows on a Mac in a virtual machine, Perfect Dictation can work inside Windows there, as long as the virtual machine passes your microphone through and does not capture the talk key for itself. Picking an F key as the talk key usually avoids that.
What about phones and tablets?
Perfect Dictation is a desktop app for the PC where you do your real writing. Phones already have decent built-in voice typing for short messages; the gap Perfect Dictation fills is long, polished writing in the apps you use at a desk. There is no phone app planned at the moment.
What carries over when the Mac app arrives
- Your plan, because it belongs to your account, not to one computer.
- Your dictionary, so names and terms are spelt your way from the first dictation.
- Your snippets and your own styles.
History stays on each computer, as it does between PCs today.
Linux and Chromebooks
Not at the moment. If you would use Perfect Dictation on another platform, open a ticket and tell us which: requests like that decide what comes after the Mac.
