The short answer
Install it and choose Sign in. The app shows a short code and opens the site; sign in with Google, check the code matches, and that PC gets its own key.
Step by step
- Install Perfect Dictation from the Microsoft Store on the new PC.
- Open it and choose Sign in. It shows a short code, such as 8PPN-3FM2, and opens the website.
- Sign in with Google on the website, using the same Google account as before.
- Check the code on the website matches the one in the app, and confirm.
- The app signs in by itself. You are ready to dictate.
Why a code
The code makes sure the PC you are signing in is the one in front of you, not a different one. Never confirm a code you did not just see in your own app.
Its own key
Each PC gets its own key. That means you can sign one PC out without affecting the others, and see on your account page exactly which PCs have access. Your Google password is never stored in the app.
What arrives on the new PC
Your dictionary, snippets and your own styles sync within a minute. History does not: it stays on each PC. See Do my settings follow me?
All your PCs are in use?
If your plan's PCs are all signed in, sign one out from the Devices tab on your account page first, or move to a plan with more PCs.
